Haniel Wides

Artist, furniture maker, fabricator, and educator in between unceded Piscataway land (so-called Baltimore, MD) and Massachusett land (so-called Boston, MA). They/Them.

My work experience ranges from carpentry, cabinet making, art and museum fabrication, timber framing, woodwork project and design consulting as well as sculpture and furniture commission work. I have taught woodworking and metalworking through youth mentorship and adult education within and outside of various organizations in and around Baltimore. With an emphasis on craft and traditional tools spanning cultures and eras, I strive to synthesize techniques of traditional and modern fabrication and artistry through a critical and intentional lens.
